Randle returns as Knicks post 'a great team win' in Game 1
As the New York Knicks approached Game 1 of their Eastern Conference quarterfinal series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, they hoped Julius Randle would be able to play.
Randle scored 19 points, grabbed 10 rebounds and dished out four assists in almost 34 minutes
He helped carry the tough-minded group to a 101-97 Game 1 win was less of a surprise and more of a premonition for those that knew him best.
We all know that if you're around him, you're going to receive all he has," Knicks coach Tom Thibodeau said following the game.
After the game, Randle admitted he was optimistic he'd be able to play despite continuing to rehab his ankle.
Every day I got like significantly better," Randle said. "So I felt by the time Saturday got here I would be fine.
Aside from Randle's return, the Knicks got some contributions from up and down their roster in Saturday's win.
